Biological Activity

Taprenepag (CP-544326) is a potent and selective prostaglandin EP2 receptor agonist with an IC50 of 10 nM for human EP2 and 15 nM for rat EP2. Activation of the EP2 receptor by Taprenepag stimulates intracellular cAMP accumulation and triggers downstream PKA signaling pathways, ultimately promoting extracellular matrix turnover and facilitating aqueous humor outflow to lower intraocular pressure.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
