CP2 is a cyclic peptide that acts as a potent inhibitor of the JmjC domain-containing histone demethylases KDM4A and KDM4C. By suppressing KDM4 activity, CP2 alters histone methylation patterns, particularly on histone H3 lysine residues, leading to changes in chromatin organization and transcription in regulated epigenetic pathways. These biochemical effects disrupt target gene expression and inhibit tumor cell growth phenotypes driven by KDM4 overexpression. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
