Biological Activity

Compound E is a potent inhibitor of γ-secretase that suppresses γ-secretase-mediated cleavage of Notch. By inhibiting γ-secretase activity, it blocks the Notch signaling pathway and suppresses the production of β-amyloid(40) and β-amyloid(42) peptides. This targeted blockade disrupts downstream Notch-dependent functions, significantly impairing gonadotropin-dependent follicle growth and halting progression to the preovulatory stage of development. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
