Coelenterazine is a luminescent substrate for apoaequorin and Renilla luciferase that enables bioluminescent signal generation in biochemical assays. It acts as a bioluminescence donor in bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (BRET) systems to detect protein-protein interactions in living cells. Additionally, coelenterazine functions as a sensitive chemiluminescent probe for the detection of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, including superoxide anions and peroxynitrite. [1][2]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
