CMPD-39 is a potent selective non-covalent inhibitor targeting mitochondrial ubiquitin-specific protease 30 (USP30). By suppressing USP30 deubiquitinase activity, it prevents the removal of ubiquitin chains from mitochondrial outer membrane proteins, thereby promoting Parkin-mediated mitophagy and accelerating the clearance of damaged mitochondria. This enhancement of mitophagy facilitates mitochondrial quality control, protects against mitochondrial dysfunction, and maintains cellular energy homeostasis. [1]
