Ordering Information

Biological Activity

CL-82198 is a selective, orally bioavailable matrix metalloproteinase-13 (MMP-13) inhibitor. By targeting MMP-13, CL-82198 prevents the proteolytic activation of proMMP-9 and attenuates progressive extracellular matrix remodeling in diseased tissue explants. Downstream, pharmacological inhibition of reactive oxygen species–induced MMP-13 activity using CL-82198 suppresses glucose-mediated neurotoxicity, preventing sensory axon degeneration and restoring sensory function in preclinical models of diabetic neuropathy. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
