Biological Activity

CL-387785 is an irreversible and selective epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor (IC50 370 pM). By covalently binding to the ATP-binding pocket of EGFR, CL-387785 blocks receptor autophosphorylation and suppresses downstream EGFR signaling through the MAPK and PI3K/AKT pathways. Consequently, this targeted inhibition impairs cancer cell proliferation and triggers apoptosis in EGFR-overexpressing tumor cells. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
