Biological Activity

CK-869 is a potent, selective small-molecule inhibitor of the actin-related protein 2/3 (Arp2/3) complex. By binding directly to the Arp2/3 complex, CK-869 prevents actin filament nucleation and branching, thereby suppressing actin cytoskeleton dynamics. Consequently, treatment with this inhibitor disrupts downstream actin-dependent cellular processes, including lamellipodia formation, cell motility, and morphological changes in various cell types. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
