Ciproxifan Maleate is a potent and selective histamine H3 receptor antagonist with high affinity for the H3 receptor subtype. By blocking presynaptic histamine H3 autoreceptors and heteroreceptors, it enhances histaminergic neurotransmission and promotes the downstream release of neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine and dopamine in the central nervous system. These actions contribute to downstream functional effects including increased wakefulness, enhanced cognitive performance, and modulation of neuronal signaling. [1]
