Certepetide (CEND-1; iRGD) is a tumor-penetrating cyclic peptide that selectively targets αV integrins on tumor endothelial cells. Upon proteolytic cleavage, it exposes a C-end Rule (CendR) motif that binds neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) to activate an endocytic transcytosis pathway. This process increases vascular and tissue permeability, significantly enhancing the intratumoral penetration and accumulation of co-administered anticancer therapeutics. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
