Biological Activity

CDKI-73 is a potent, orally bioavailable cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor targeting CDK9, CDK1, CDK2, and CDK4. By blocking CDK9-mediated phosphorylation of RNA polymerase II, CDKI-73 downregulates anti-apoptotic proteins such as Mcl-1, thereby triggering caspase activation and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells, including acute myeloid leukemia. Additionally, CDKI-73 potentiates the cytotoxic effects of cisplatin in tumor cell models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
