Biological Activity

CDK9-IN-2 is a potent and selective inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase 9 (CDK9). CDK9 functions as the catalytic subunit of positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb), which controls transcriptional elongation by phosphorylating RNA polymerase II. Inhibition of CDK9 suppresses the expression of anti-apoptotic factors, leading to antiproliferative effects and apoptosis across various cancer cell lines. [1]
