CD437 (AHPN) is a synthetic retinoid functioning as a selective retinoic acid receptor γ (RARγ) agonist. Upon receptor binding, CD437 modulates retinoid-responsive gene expression and activates downstream activator protein-1 (AP-1) signaling pathways. This target engagement leads to cell cycle arrest, inhibition of cellular proliferation, and the induction of programmed cell death (apoptosis) in multiple human cancer cell lines in vitro. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
