Biological Activity

CBR-470-1 is an inhibitor of the glycolytic enzyme phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (PGK1) and a non-covalent activator of Nrf2. Pharmacological inhibition of PGK1 leads to the accumulation of methylglyoxal, which modifies Keap1 to trigger Keap1-Nrf2 dissociation and downstream gene expression. Through activation of the Keap1-Nrf2 cascade, CBR-470-1 attenuates oxidative stress and protects SH-SY5Y neuronal cells against MPP+-induced cytotoxicity. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
