Biological Activity

CAY10603 is a potent and selective histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) inhibitor with an IC50 of 2 pM and greater than 200-fold selectivity over other HDAC isoforms. By inhibiting HDAC6, CAY10603 increases the acetylation of α-tubulin without significantly affecting histone acetylation. This selective inhibition disrupts microtubule-dependent cellular processes, suppressing cell motility and inhibiting tumor cell proliferation. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
