Carboxyethylgermanium sesquioxide (Repagermanium) is an orally active small-molecule inhibitor of the C-C chemokine receptor type 2 (CCR2) pathway. By targeting CCR2, it blocks monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1/CCL2)-induced signaling and suppresses monocyte chemotaxis. Disruption of this chemokine cascade attenuates inflammatory cell infiltration and downregulates downstream pro-inflammatory signaling, thereby reducing tissue inflammation and cellular damage in preclinical disease models.
