C7280948 is a small-molecule inhibitor targeting protein arginine methyltransferase 1 (PRMT1). By blocking PRMT1-catalyzed asymmetric dimethylation of histone and non-histone protein substrates, the compound regulates downstream chromatin remodeling, gene transcription, and RNA processing pathways. Inhibition of PRMT1 dysregulates essential cellular signaling cascades, leading to altered gene expression profiles, reduced cellular proliferation, and increased apoptosis in target cell populations. Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
