Biological Activity

BVDV IN-1 is a non-nucleoside inhibitor targeting bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) with an EC50 value of. By binding directly to an allosteric pocket on the viral RdRp enzyme, it disrupts assembly and activity of the viral replication complex. This inhibition halts downstream viral RNA synthesis and genome replication, thereby suppressing viral propagation and preventing virus-induced cytopathic effects. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
