Biological Activity
BSJ-5-63 is a proteolysis targeting chimera (PROTAC) degrader of cyclin-dependent kinase 12 (CDK12), CDK7, and CDK9. By inducing targeted degradation, BSJ-5-63 downregulates protein levels of CDK12, CDK7, CDK9, RNA polymerase II (RNAPII), and Cyclin K, while suppressing mRNA expression of BRCA1 and BRCA2. These concerted mechanisms impair transcription and DNA damage repair pathways, promoting antiproliferative and anticancer effects in prostate cancer research models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
