Brr2 inhibitor C9 is an allosteric inhibitor of the spliceosomal RNA helicase Brr2. By targeting Brr2, the compound disrupts the catalytic activation and disassembly of the spliceosome, thereby inhibiting pre-mRNA splicing. Inhibition of Brr2 helicase activity modulates RNA processing pathways, providing a valuable chemical tool for investigating spliceosomal dynamics and pathological mechanisms associated with autosomal-dominant retinitis pigmentosa.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
