BRL-15572 Dihydrochloride is a selective serotonin 5-HT1D receptor antagonist (pKi 7.9) that displays 60-fold selectivity over the 5-HT1B receptor, as well as affinity for 5-HT1A and 5-HT2B receptors. By modulating serotonin receptor signaling, it regulates neurotransmitter release and inhibits sumatriptan-mediated modulation of GABAergic synaptic transmission in neural pathways.

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
