Biological Activity

BRD73954 is a potent histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor that selectively targets HDAC6 and HDAC8. By suppressing HDAC enzymatic activity, BRD73954 promotes hyperacetylation of histone and non-histone substrates, such as alpha-tubulin, thereby disrupting intracellular transport, cytoskeletal dynamics, and protein homeostasis. Inhibition of these signaling pathways alters chromatin structure and suppresses cell proliferation while inducing apoptosis in cellular models of cancer. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
