Biological Activity
bisBenzimide H 33258 Trihydrochloride is a cell-permeable bisbenzimide fluorescent dye that selectively targets adenine-thymine-rich minor grooves of double-stranded DNA. Binding to double-stranded DNA significantly enhances its fluorescence intensity, making it widely used for live-cell nuclear labeling and chromatin visualization. Downstream interaction with cellular DNA modulates topoisomerase activity, resulting in inhibited DNA replication and antiproliferative effects against tumor cells.[1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
