Biological Activity

Biotin-PEG3-azide is a hydrophilic biotinylation reagent used for labeling alkyne-containing biomolecules, peptides, and proteins via copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) or copper-free strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC). The incorporation of a triethylene glycol (PEG3) spacer enhances aqueous solubility, reduces steric hindrance, and minimizes non-specific binding during streptavidin-based affinity purification and detection of target biomolecules.
