Biological Activity

BG45 is a class I histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor that selectively targets HDAC3 over other isoform targets, including HDAC1, HDAC2, and HDAC6. Selective inhibition of class I HDACs impairs deacetylase enzymatic activity, promoting intracellular histone hyperacetylation and chromatin structural remodeling. This disruption modulates downstream gene expression programs, ultimately suppressing cancer cell proliferation and triggering apoptotic cell death in cell-based models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
