Betulinic acid is a natural pentacyclic triterpenoid that functions as an inhibitor of NF-κB signaling and HIV-1 replication. It suppresses NF-κB activation induced by diverse inflammatory agents, leading to the downregulation of downstream anti-apoptotic gene products. By modulating mitochondrial membrane potential and activating apoptotic pathways, betulinic acid selectively suppresses tumor cell growth and induces apoptosis in cancer models, including melanoma. - Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
