Biological Activity
Bersacapavir (JNJ-6379, JNJ-56136379) is a hepatitis B virus capsid assembly modulator that inhibits HBV replication with an EC50 of 54 nM in HepG2.117 cells. It accelerates viral capsid assembly and induces the formation of morphologically intact capsids lacking genomic material. Consequently, it prevents covalently closed circular DNA formation and suppresses viral RNA and antigen production, blocking HBV replication steps. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
