BC-1215 is a small-molecule inhibitor of F-box protein 3 (FBXO3), a subunit of ubiquitin E3 ligase complexes. By targeting FBXO3, BC-1215 impairs the FBXO3-dependent degradation of FBXL2, resulting in increased FBXL2 levels that downregulate tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factors (TRAF proteins). This inhibition suppresses NF-kB activity and downstream inflammatory cytokine release, including IL-1β, thereby reducing severe systemic and pulmonary inflammation in preclinical models. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
