Biological Activity
BAW2881 (NVP-BAW2881) is a synthetic receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting vascular endothelial growth factor receptors VEGFR1, VEGFR2, and VEGFR3, as well as PDGFRβ, c-Kit, and RET. By blocking VEGFR-mediated signaling, it suppresses endothelial cell activation and downstream angiogenic pathway activity. This inhibition results in reduced vascular permeability, decreased capillary formation, and attenuation of localized tissue inflammation.[1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
