Azlocillin sodium salt is an acylampicillin beta-lactam antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against various Gram-negative and Gram-positive pathogens, particularly Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, leading to cell wall degradation and bacterial cell lysis. This compound impairs bacterial cell wall integrity and exerts potent bactericidal activity against susceptible bacterial strains. [1]
