AZD9496 is an orally bioavailable selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) and potent antagonist of estrogen receptor alpha (ERα). It binds to ERα to induce receptor degradation, suppressing downstream estrogen signaling and transcriptional activity. Consequently, AZD9496 inhibits cell proliferation and blocks tumor growth in preclinical models of ER-positive breast cancer, including those harboring wild-type and Y537S or D538G mutated ESR1. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
