Biological Activity

AZD2858 is a potent and selective inhibitor of glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3). By targeting and inhibiting GSK-3, AZD2858 effectively activates the canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. Downstream activation of this pathway stimulates osteoblast differentiation and enhances bone matrix deposition, leading to marked increases in bone density and total bone mass in rodent models.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
