Biological Activity

AZD0780 is an orally active proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitor that directly binds to PCSK9 to block its interaction with target receptors. By inhibiting PCSK9 function, AZD0780 prevents PCSK9-mediated low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) degradation, resulting in increased cell-surface LDLR levels and enhanced clearance of circulating LDL cholesterol, making it useful for dyslipidemia research. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
