Azatadine dimaleate is a dual histamine receptor and cholinergic receptor inhibitor. By targeting H1 histamine receptors and cholinergic pathways, it inhibits histamine-induced vasodilation, vascular permeability, and smooth muscle contraction. Downstream, azatadine suppresses bronchoconstriction and allergic inflammatory responses, demonstrating potent antiallergic and anticholinergic phenotypes in preclinical models of allergic rhinitis and asthma.
