Biological Activity

Auxinole is a potent auxin antagonist and inhibitor of the transport inhibitor response 1 (TIR1) receptor. It binds to TIR1 and directly blocks the formation of the TIR1-IAA-Aux/IAA co-receptor complex. By preventing auxin-induced degradation mediated by TIR1/OsTIR1, auxinole suppresses the basal leaky degradation of degron-fused proteins, enabling tight control of targeted protein depletion in auxin-inducible degron systems. FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
