Biological Activity

AT-56 is a selective, orally active inhibitor of lipocalin-type prostaglandin D synthase (L-PGDS). By blocking L-PGDS, it prevents the conversion of prostaglandin H2 into prostaglandin D2, suppressing downstream PGD2-mediated signaling pathways. This targeted enzyme inhibition affects PGD2-regulated physiological processes, including lipid metabolism, inflammatory responses, and central nervous system functions in biological models.

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
