Biological Activity

AS601245 is an orally active, ATP-competitive c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase (JNK) inhibitor that targets JNK signaling. Inhibition of the JNK pathway by AS601245 suppresses c-Jun expression and phosphorylation, thereby attenuating apoptotic cascades and protecting neurons against ischemic injury in cerebral ischemia models. Furthermore, JNK inhibition by AS601245 reduces cell proliferation, downregulates cyclin D1 and PCNA expression, and promotes apoptosis and differentiation in cancer cells. [1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
