AR420626 is a selective agonist of free fatty acid receptor 3 (FFAR3, also known as GPR41). Activation of FFAR3 engages Gi/o-coupled signaling pathways to regulate gastrointestinal functions and cellular physiological responses. Through this receptor activation, AR420626 prevents serotonin-induced circular muscle relaxation ex vivo and suppresses defecation in vivo, highlighting the role of FFAR3 in modulating gut motility.
