Biological Activity

APX2009 is a second-generation redox-specific inhibitor of apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease 1/redox factor-1 (APE1/Ref-1), a key regulator in the base excision repair pathway. Inhibition of APE1/Ref-1 redox activity disrupts downstream transcription factor signaling, leading to reduced cell proliferation, suppressed colony formation, and impaired cellular migration and invasion. Consequently, APX2009 induces apoptosis in cancer models and inhibits endothelial tube formation to block neovascularization.[1][2]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
