Ammonium ferric citrate is an iron salt and ferroptosis inducer that targets the GPX4-GSS/GSR-GGT pathway. Inhibition of this axis suppresses cellular antioxidant defenses and induces oxidative stress injury in non-small-cell lung carcinoma cells. Downstream, this pathway disruption impairs metabolic and biosynthetic processes, inhibits cell proliferation and invasion, and decreases autophagy, ultimately triggering iron-dependent cell death through ferroptosis. - Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
Pre-aliquoted for Longevity: Solid-state aliquots offer significantly longer shelf life compared to stock solutions, ensuring maximum stability for every use.
