AMI-1 is a selective histone methyltransferase inhibitor that targets yeast Hmt1p (IC50 of 3.0 μM) and human PRMT1 (IC50 of 8.8 μM). By selectively blocking arginine methyltransferase activity without affecting lysine methyltransferases, AMI-1 impairs intracellular protein arginine methylation. This disruption alters pre-mRNA splicing, transcriptional regulation, and nuclear protein trafficking pathways, ultimately suppressing cellular proliferation. [1]

- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
