Amezalpat is a synthetic small-molecule antagonist targeting peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα). Blockade of PPARα suppresses downstream fatty acid oxidation and lipid metabolic pathways required for tumor energy production. Consequently, inhibition of this transcriptional regulator impairs cell proliferation, disrupts metabolic homeostasis, and induces antineoplastic effects in malignant cells dependent on altered lipid metabolism.
