Biological Activity

α-NETA is a small-molecule inhibitor of choline acetyltransferase and antagonist of CMKLR1, ALDH1A1, and G9a histone methyltransferase. Modulation of these targets alters G protein-coupled receptor signaling and epigenetic histone methylation, suppressing downstream tumor cell proliferation and inflammatory cell chemoattraction. Consequently, α-NETA exhibits anti-cancer activity and potential therapeutic utility in neuroinflammatory and demyelinating disease models. [1][2]
