Biological Activity

AIM-100 is a potent small-molecule inhibitor of Ack1 (IC50 24 nM). By suppressing Ack1 kinase activity, AIM-100 blocks Ack1-mediated phosphorylation of histone H3 at tyrosine 88 and inhibits androgen receptor transcription. Consequently, attenuation of this signaling pathway suppresses prostate cancer cell proliferation and downregulates oncogenic gene expression in preclinical models. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
