Biological Activity

AG 825 (Tyrphostin AG-825) is a potent and selective inhibitor of ErbB2 (IC50 = that also inhibits PDGFR autophosphorylation (IC50 =. By suppressing ErbB2 receptor tyrosine kinase activity, AG 825 interrupts downstream oncogenic signaling cascades, leading to the inhibition of cancer cell growth and survival. Consequently, this compound exhibits robust anti-cancer activity and significantly induces apoptosis in cancer cells. [1]

FAQ
Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
  • Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
  • Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
  • For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
  • Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
