Adiphenine HCl is a nicotinic receptor inhibitor and anticholinergic agent that functions as an effective antispasmodic drug. By targeting nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and blocking downstream cholinergic receptor-mediated signaling pathways, it inhibits neuromuscular transmission and smooth muscle contraction. This suppression of cholinergic signaling leads to reduced gastrointestinal and visceral smooth muscle spasms, demonstrating its primary biological activity.[1]
