Biological Activity

Description Actarit (4-acetylaminophenylacetic acid) is an orally active immunomodulator used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
In vivo After intragastric administration of a single dose of ATR at 10mg/kg in male NZ rabbits, The maximum plasma concentration of ATR was attained within 1.33± 0.13 h and then the concentration declined with an elimination half-life of 2.28± 0.27 h. The absorption of ATR in vivo might be rapid[1]. Actarit inhibits of collagen-induced arthritis via suppression of the allergic reaction (type IV), and inhibits of the production of rheumatoid factor or anti-DNA antibody in MRL/lpr mice. Actarit has no effect on acute inflammation such as carrageenin edema in rats[2].
