Biological Activity
ACI-19626 is a small-molecule positron emission tomography (PET) tracer that selectively binds to pathological TDP-43 aggregates. By targeting aggregated TDP-43, it enables non-invasive visualization of TDP-43 proteinopathy without disrupting native cellular signaling. This specific interaction facilitates the detection and assessment of TDP-43 pathology driving neurodegenerative disorders, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia. [1][2]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
