Biological Activity
Acetylcorynoline is a major isoquinoline alkaloid derived from the traditional medicinal plant Corydalis bungeana that exhibits anti-inflammatory properties. It suppresses apoptosis pathways by decreasing egl-1 expression and enhances proteasome activity through the upregulation of rpn5 expression. Downstream, these molecular modulations inhibit programmed cell death, reduce cellular stress responses, and promote overall proteostasis, contributing to its cytoprotective effects. [1]

Q: Why does a DMSO stock precipitate in media/saline?
A: It is caused by unheated aqueous media (supersaturation), local solvent shock, or incorrect mixing sequence.
How to fix it?
- Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
