Acebutolol HCl is a selective β1-adrenergic receptor antagonist featuring intrinsic sympathomimetic activity. By preferentially binding to β1-adrenoceptors, it blocks catecholamine-induced Gs protein coupling and inhibits adenylyl cyclase activation. This competitive antagonism reduces intracellular cyclic AMP (cAMP) production and downstream protein kinase A signaling, ultimately attenuating sympathetic stimulation in cardiac tissue and modulating cardiovascular responsiveness. - Preheat media/saline to 37°C.
- Mix rapidly (pipette/vortex) upon addition.
- For complex mixes, always add the aqueous phase last.
- Re-dissolve minor precipitates with a 37°C water bath and sonication (≤30 min).
